I'm always intimidated by drawing Lanfear, because how do you portray the most beautiful woman anybody's ever seen?  But you nailed it.

I was intimidated by that too. So I decided to go the beautiful crazy route. It was suggested to me to look at Morticia Adams and Lilly Munster. I tried to use the classic shadow around the eyes with a bright highlight to intensify her eyes. Then I just looked at darkly beautiful actresses like Monica Bellucci. To me it is really imposible to portray the most beautiful woman ever because that is really an opinon. So in that case I went with other attributes. Like in Berelain I went with the fact that yes she is a seductress but she is also a queen and a strategist. :D

That was a really solid strategy, and it paid off like crazy.

I love the hair piece and dress and such, but to be honest, she doesn't hold a candle to your Graendal. And according to the books its the other way around. I hate to be a poo, but its just my opinion! And i suppose it's all up to imagination, and what different people see as beautiful.

Thank you.
Beauty really is up to the viewer. I found Lanfear gorgeous but I also wanted to show her insanity.
For Graendal I wanted to show her pompousness and vanity along with her beauty. They are both beautiful but in different ways.
I'm just happy that you like them. :D

Such a wonderful interpretation of Lanfear... one of my favorites by far.

A wonderful character to draw for sure.

This is well done. But I don't remember her wearing any jewelry. She always seemed above it to me.
